London considers talking recycling bins with celebrity voices

What whether the next moment you chunked a plastic bottle in a recycling bin at the park, Captain Planet’s voice came by a loudspeaker and thanked you for caring about the environment? Would that be awesome, or construct you curl up in the fetal position and vomit uncontrollably? That’s the question being asked by London’s mayor as the he searches for new ways to boost the city’s rate of recycling. Surprisingly, that view is one of the top contenders.

In fact, the talking bins are currently being tested in Helsinki. Whenever a Finn chunks a Coke can into one of these recycling bins, a sensor activates an internal sound system which blasts a knowledge like: “It’s great that you care about the city.
